Becoming a sustainable business

As part of Camden’s Climate Action Plan 2020-2025, we have committed to reducing CO2e emissions from the borough to net zero by 2030.

To achieve this, we will need to do everything we can to reduce emissions from our estate and operations.

Getting started

The climate agenda has accelerated in recent years and buzzwords can be hard to keep up with.

To combat this issue, The UK Business Climate Hub have put together a jargon buster as a reference guide.

Sustainability networks

Sustainability networks can support you to make your business more environmentally friendly. See more and get involved in sustainability networks.

Camden Climate Alliance

The Camden Climate Alliance (CCA) is a network made up of:

  • businesses

  • the community

  • schools

They work together to drive positive change and tackle the climate crisis in Camden. The network supports this in three ways:

  • learning and capacity building: including workshops and peer-to-peer sessions to help businesses take action on the climate crisis. The past and upcoming events can be found on the Camden Climate Alliance website
  • value transfer: the network links businesses with local schools and community projects, helping businesses to fund, co-design, and support local initiatives like greening and energy efficiency projects
  • celebrating and sharing progress: the CCA celebrates achievements and tracks progress through monthly bulletins, a Carbon Certification Scheme, and annual impact reports
