Camden Community MARAC (Safety Interventions Panel)

The Camden Community Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference (CCMARAC), also known as the Safety Interventions Panel, brings together key services for a coordinated response to complex and high-risk cases involving anti-social behaviour (ASB) and hate crime.

The focus is on safeguarding vulnerable victims and witnesses, supporting those at risk, and working together to reduce harm in our communities.

What the panel does

The panel meets regularly to:

  • share relevant information between agencies
  • support the safety and wellbeing of victims and witnesses
  • agree joint actions to reduce risk and prevent further harm
  • ensure perpetrators are appropriately managed and supported, where possible
  • encourage early intervention and creative problem solving

CCMARAC is not a case management service and each case will have a lead agency responsible for taking agreed actions.

Who is on the panel

CCMARAC is co-chaired by Camden Community Safety and the Metropolitan Police.

Core members include:

  • Metropolitan Police
  • Camden Community Safety
  • Adult Safeguarding (Camden Council)
  • Camden & Islington NHS Foundation Trust
  • National Probation Service
  • Camden Housing and other housing providers
  • Camden LGBT Forum
  • Camden Witness Service
  • Change Grow Live (substance misuse services)

More representatives may attend based on case needs, including:

  • mental health services
  • drug and alcohol support
  • homelessness services
  • youth offending, disability, and fire services
  • local NHS Trusts and voluntary sector organisations

Every agency is expected to send a decision-maker who can commit time and resources. If a case is brought by a service not regularly on the panel, that agency must attend the relevant meeting.

Make a referral

You can make a referral if you’re a professional working with someone who is:

  • vulnerable and experiencing ongoing victimisation
  • displaying behaviours that put others at risk

Each referral includes a risk assessment to help the panel understand the level of concern and urgency.

To make a referral, contact the Camden Community Safety team by phone on 020 7974 4444 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm) for guidance and a risk assessment form.
