Primary to secondary school transfer

Moving on to secondary school

The high quality teaching and supportive environment at Camden's secondary schools aims to help every student reach their potential. Whether your child's aim is a place at a top university, an excellent apprenticeship or landing a great job, Camden secondary schools are high achieving and ambitious for all students. All of our secondary schools have good or outstanding Ofsted outcomes.

Secondary school Year 7 admissions

We co-ordinate admissions for Year 7 places at Camden secondary schools. We also provide advice on transfers, vacancies and appeals.

Your child will be due to start secondary school in September 2026 if they were born between 1 September 2014 and 31 August 2015. Apply for September 2026 by using the button below.

Camden secondary schools' open events 2025

All Camden secondary schools hold open events for parents and carers in September and October. It's a great way to see for yourself what each school has to offer your child. Sixth form open events mostly happen in November. View or download a poster with all the dates below.

Meet the Parents - informal forums for parents

Meet the Parents run informal forums where parents of current primary school pupils can ‘meet the parents’ and students who attend their local secondary schools and hear about their experiences of those schools.

This year, Meet the Parents are running all of their events over one week, from 15 to 18 September 2025. These are taking place after school at local primary schools across the borough. All welcome. Find out more and book your places.
