Examination overview
The Camden Local Plan Proposed Submission Draft was submitted to the Secretary of State for independent examination on Friday 3 October 2025.
The submission documents are available to view on the examination pages of our website.
The Secretary of State has appointed Inspector K Ford to hold an independent examination of the Local Plan.
The Inspectors' task is to consider the soundness of the submitted Plan (in accordance with the tests set out in the National Planning Framework) and whether it has been prepared in accordance with the legal and procedural requirements.
The examination pages of the website will be kept up-to-date throughout the examination process, so please refer back here for further updates.

This page includes the Procedure Guide for Local Plan Examinations which provides detailed practical advice for local authorities and Guidance for Programme Officers. Programme Officer
Pauline Butcher has been appointed as the Programme Officer.
Pauline is an independent officer and works on the Inspector’s behalf, organising and managing the administrative and procedural matters of the examination process. The Programme Officer acts as the contact for any person who has an interest in the examination, liaising between the Inspector, Representors and Camden Council.
