Express interest in the housing buy back programme

Since 2019, we have been buying ex Right to Buy 1, 2, 3 and 4 bedroom properties in Camden. Over 180 properties have been bought so far, and we are committed to increasing council homes in Camden.  

Properties we're looking for

We're looking for properties that:

  • have 1, 2, 3, or 4 bedrooms, especially 3 to 4-bedroom properties
  • are in good condition and are being sold with vacant possession
  • where we have the freehold such as purpose-built blocks or houses on estates

We'll assess properties based on housing needs and long-term affordability before committing to buy. 

We're cash buyers and offer market prices, subject to an independent valuation. If required, we can be flexible on completion times to meet your requirements.

The scheme has many advantages for leaseholders, including: 

  • cash purchase 
  • fast completion
  • no chain as you do not have to wait for a buyer to sell first
  • no estate agent fees or commission
  • helping Camden to secure more decent, safe, warm and family-friendly housing to support our communities

Any service charges and notified major works should be paid before completion. Any outstanding charges will be deducted from the completion payment. 

How to apply

We've had lots of interest in the buy-back scheme, so we've paused new applications for now.

We expect to open them again in January 2026.
