Request a Person Centred Fire Risk Assessment (PCFRA)
A Person-Centred Fire Risk Assessment (PCFRA) helps us identify fire risks that are linked to your health, mobility or environment. We’ll assess your needs and create a plan to help keep you safe.
Who can ask for a PCFRA
You can ask for a PCFRA if you:
- have a disability or mobility issue
- use medical or mobility equipment at home
- receive care or support services
- live alone or may need help in an emergency
How it helps
The assessment helps you understand and reduce the risk of fire. It can also identify any support or equipment you might need, such as:
- specialist smoke or heat alarms
- fire-retardant bedding or blankets
- help with safe cooking and heating
- an evacuation plan if needed
How to request a PCFRA
If you live in Camden, you can request an assessment through the Camden Fire Safety Advisors. You can:
- email fireadvisors@camden.gov.uk
- phone 020 7974 1964
They’ll arrange a home visit and help you access any follow-up support.
What happens next
A trained assessor will visit your home. They will discuss your daily routines and support needs. They’ll also look at:
- how you cook or use electrical items
- whether you smoke or use candles
- how easy it is for you to leave the home safely
- your smoke alarms and fire safety equipment
You’ll get advice and recommendations to help reduce any risk.
After your assessment, you’ll receive a clear summary of the advice and agreed actions. We’ll also make sure that any ongoing support is in place if needed.
