Support for families during school holidays

Camden Council provides supermarket vouchers to help low-income families buy food during school holidays when free school meals (FSM) are not available.

This support is funded by the Government’s Household Support Fund (HSF), which runs until 31 March 2026.

Who can get vouchers

You may qualify if you:

  • live in Camden and are in receipt of Housing Benefit or Council Tax Support, with children under 18.
  • have children attending a Camden school who are registered to receive Free School Meals

Use the form to apply for free school meals.

Voucher schedule

Vouchers are valid for a limited time and must be redeemed as per the instructions in the letter:

  • Autumn term: half term and Christmas holidays - £45 per child (posted in October 2025)
  • Spring term: half term and Easter holidays - £45 per child (posted in February 2026)

Important information

  • once vouchers have expired, they cannot be reissued
  • if you have not received your vouchers, contact us during the first half-term holiday of the term in which you expected to receive them. Contacting us more than two weeks after this holiday could result in the vouchers having expired and therefore not being replaced

If your household details change, contact the Free School Meals Team at freeschoolmeals@camden.gov.uk or the Benefits service at benefits@camden.gov.uk.

If you have an enquiry regarding your school holiday hunger supermarket vouchers, complete the enquiry form for holiday voucher support.

We aim to respond to you within 10 working days.
