Step-by-step pre application planning advice
Step-by-step pre application planning advice
When you chose to get pre application planning advice, these are the steps that we will go through with you.
1. Tell us about your proposal
Start by telling us about your proposal on our online submission portal. Based on the details, we will tell you what category of advice is right for you.
2. Submit your documents and pay
You’ll need to provide a summary of the proposal.
This should include drawings or sketches showing the proposal and photographs of the site and surrounding context.
We may ask for other supporting documents depending on the nature of the proposal.
3. Officer assigned and meetings scheduled
We will check your request and let you know if you need to send more information.
A case officer will be assigned to your request. They will contact you within 6 and 10 working days to book in a virtual meeting or a site visit if needed for assessment.
4. Assessment of proposal
We will assess your proposal. This will include checking the:
- planning history of site
- relevant policies
- site constraints and A5 basement policy where relevant
- consulting with other relevant departments in Camden
- the site, through a site visit where relevant
5. Actionable advice is shared
You will receive your advice by email in a written report
The report will include:
- information on whether your proposal is likely to be accepted
- any recommended amendments to your proposal
- guidance on what information you need to provide with your planning application
If you would like to clarify any parts of the advice that you have received, you can submit one round of clarifying questions to the case officer by email.
