Aids and adaptations policy: housing and property
Aids and adaptations policy: housing and property
We want to ensure all our tenants can live safely, comfortably, and independently.
Our aids and adaptations policy explains how we support tenants needing changes to their homes due to a disability, health condition, or mobility issue.
This could include providing:
- grab rails or handrails
- stairlifts or platform lifts
- level-access showers or wet rooms
- adapted kitchens or widened doorways
- bath seats or raised toilet seats
- temporary equipment to support recovery or short-term needs

How to request support
If you’re finding it hard to manage at home or need support, you can request a discussion about your care and support needs.
A trained Occupational Therapist (OT) will work with you to understand your needs and recommend the right equipment or adaptations. This support is available to tenants of all ages, including children and older adults.
If you need help or want to speak to someone
You can speak to any Housing Repairs or Adult Social Care team member. We’re here to listen and help you find the right support.
