Helplines
Helplines can be a quick way to get help, but you may have to wait on the line or be offered a call back:
Samaritans offer 24/7 helpline support for anyone experiencing stress, despair or who is in crisis. Call them for free on 116123. Or, you can call 0330 094 5717 but you may be charged depending on your phone package
The Silver Line offers 24/7 helpline support for older people. They provide information, friendship and advice. Call them for free on 0800 470 80 90
Cruse Bereavement Care offer helpline support for anyone affected by grief. Call them for free on 0808 808 1677, Monday to Friday (opening times vary)
Counselling
A trained professional can help you talk about your emotions and your experiences. There may be a waiting list:
Camden, City, Islington & Westminster Bereavement Service (CCIWBS) offer counselling to anyone aged 18 or over registered with a GP in Camden or Islington
Camden and Islington Talking Therapies offer counselling for stress, anxiety, depression and insomnia
The Brandon Centre offers counselling for young people aged 16 to 24 who live in Camden and Islington
