Get help to leave your home in an emergency
If you have a disability or health condition, you can ask for help to leave your home in an emergency, such as a fire.
Who this support is for
You can get help if you’re a council tenant and live in a block of flats. You must have either:
- a sight or hearing impairment
- physical mobility issues, for example, if you struggle with stairs
- a cognitive condition
How to ask for help
You can complete the form yourself or fill it in on behalf of someone else.
How we use your information
Your personal information will be kept secure. It will only be used to help keep you safe, such as:
- referring you for a Person-Centred Fire Risk Assessment (PCFRA)
- sharing your location with the London Fire Brigade during an emergency
What happens next
A Fire Safety Advisor will contact you to discuss the next steps. This may include arranging a Person-Centred Fire Risk Assessment (PCFRA) to see if you need any extra safety measures in your home.
If you need help leaving and live in a high-rise building, we’ll record your flat and floor numbers in the building’s Secure Information Box (SIB). The fire service uses this during an emergency to find residents who need help. You can check if you live in a high-rise building.
