Evacuation support for residents in high-rise buildings

This is the improved Camden website. Tell us what you think.

Evacuation support for residents in high-rise buildings

As part of our ongoing commitment to safety, we’re collecting information from residents in our registered residential high-rise buildings who may need help evacuating in an emergency, such as a fire. This follows guidance from the National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC) and helps the London Fire Brigade respond effectively in emergencies.

Find a list of residential high-rise blocks in Camden.

We collect information to support residents who may need extra help evacuating, such as those who:

  • have difficulty responding to fire alarms
  • need assistance leaving the building in an emergency

This information will help the London Brigade act quickly and effectively.

We may also arrange a Person-Centred Fire Risk Assessment (PCFRA) for residents who need additional support. This assessment helps us understand what extra safety measures are required to protect vulnerable residents.

What you should do

Complete the evacuation support form if you live in a registered high-rise building and need support evacuating in an emergency. You can also complete the form on behalf of someone else.

How we use your information

Your personal information will be kept secure. It will only be used to help keep you safe, such as:

  • referring you for a Person-Centred Fire Risk Assessment (PCFRA)
  • sharing your location with the London Fire Brigade during an emergency

What happens next

Once you complete the form, a Fire Advisor will contact you to discuss the next steps.

If you need evacuation support, your flat and floor numbers will be stored in the Secure Information Box. The London Fire Brigade will use this box during an emergency to locate residents who need assistance.

We may also contact you to help create an emergency plan or to discuss referring you to an appropriate council service.
