Become a childminder
Camden provides advice and support to childminders from enquiry stage, through the registration process, and when registered.

To prepare for registration as a childminder:
- Read the Childminder Factsheet and our page, considering becoming a registered childminder.
- Complete training, if required, which helps you to understand and implement the requirements of the early years and childcare registers, before you can register with Ofsted or a childminder agency.
- Register with Ofsted.
Camden are offering a free becoming a childminder course on the following dates:
- 16, 17, 18, 20 February 2026 at 9.15am for (9.30am start) to 3pm
