Better Homes improvements on the Rowley Way estate
We hope to update the 66 Homes that were not completed as part of a previous project and bring them in line with the Better Homes standard. The work includes:
- replacing kitchens and bathrooms
- rewiring and upgrading electrics to meet safety standards
- improving interiors – including new flooring, tiles, and decoration
- repairing woodwork and restoring original features
- removing any changes made without permission or that don’t meet safety rules
- checking for asbestos and removing it safely – including in ceilings, risers, kitchens, and bathrooms
All work will follow the rules set out in the Heritage Partnership Agreement.
Timeline
The following timeline is subject to change.
- September 2025: tender process begins
- April 2026: Review tender evaluation
- April to June 2026: leaseholder consultations
- July 2026: contract award
- November 2026: contact begins and contractor starts on site
Cost
Costs will be confirmed after the tender process has been completed and we have consulted with leaseholders.
